Mission Statement

(a) To speak for persons handicapped by cerebral palsy or other brain damage syndromes which result in physical disability or multiple handicaps, throughout the Province of British Columbia;

(b) To promote the elimination of brain damage syndromes through the support of medical research;

(c) To promote case finding, treatment, education, and welfare of the Cerebral Palsied;

(d) To promote public awareness and acceptance of the Cerebral Palsied as active members of the community;

(e) To promote active participation by the Cerebral Palsied themselves in the initiating of necessary social changes to improve the quality of life of the handicapped, in all its phases, and to protect their dignity;

(f) To investigate the need for, and advise, on centres to be used by the Cerebral Palsied and to assist in the development and establishment of such centres to serve a variety of needs;

(g) To provide Information concerning the Cerebral Palsied to the handicapped, the professionals and the public in general;

(h) To provide direct services, especially to Cerebral Palsied adults which are not available through other agencies, such services to include Counseling and special financial assistance to the Cerebral Palsied;

(i) To solicit funding from provincial, federal and civic governments and from other available sources, to further all the objectives of the Society;

(j) To promote and assist the formation of local groups or cerebral palsied adults with objectives similar to the above throughout the province of British Columbia;

(k) To formally join as a member other organizations Whose general mandate corresponds with the above objectives.
