Provides support and training to parents with intellectual disabilities
to raise their children successfully. Program consists of home visits and
weekly support groups. Serves Vancouver, Richmond, and Delta. Office hours
are 8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday.
An organization dedicated to assisting special needs adoptive families through mutual support, information sharing, and advocacy. SNAP has a provincial mandate to establish support groups and resource parents throughout BC. Mandate also includes the provision of public workshops and conferences concerning special needs adoption. Operates a toll-free in BC telephone contact line, maintains a resource library, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and can provide information about fetal alcohol syndrome and many other special needs issues. Membership is open to all who are interested in special needs adoption issues. Membership is $15/individual, $20/couple, and $35/organization. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday (after hours, messages can be left on our answering machine). Nonprofit society. *
